Chinese Dragon Tattoos

Chinese Dragon Tattoos
Chinese Dragon TattoosEveryone knows that dragons are a very important part of Chinese culture. For thousands of years tribal dragon tattoos have been worn by members of society at all levels.

Chinese men often choose fierce looking designs whereas women opt for softer looking tattoo art featuring a Chinese sleeping dragon. In recent years, dragon tattoos have become very popular.

Chinese Dragon TattoosThe Chinese dragon symbolizes power and mystery. You could get a tattoo of a Chinese dragon next to the character for mystery or power. If your Chinese dragon has horns on it, then it symbolizes the greatest of strength. If you get a yellow Chinese dragon without horns it symbolizes knowledge. You can decide what meaning you are interested in portraying and get the appropriate dragon.

Finding the Perfect Japanese Dragon Tattoo

Japanese Dragon Tattoo
Japanese Dragon TattooThe dragon has long been an important symbol in Japanese mythology. The Japanese dragon is a fascinating creature with the head of a camel, eyes of a hare, horns of a deer, scales of a carp, paws of a tiger, & claws of an eagle. Additionally, Japanese dragons also commonly have long whiskers as well as a jewel under its chin.

Don't get Japanese Dragon Tattoos until you read this. After reading this short editorial, you will be more well informed & able to make a better choice when selecting your Design.

Plenty of people are attracted to the beauty of these mystical creatures, but few people truly know what they symbolize. Japanese dragons, like their Chinese counterparts, are distinct from Western dragons. Whereas in Western culture they are depicted as wicked & malevolent, dragons in Japanese Mythology are viewed as guardians of the imperial families. For this reason, plenty of people chose the Japanese dragon to serve as a guardian & protector. In Japan, a dragon is normally called "Ryu" (You might recall Ryu from Street Fighter). These mythical beasts command a high level of respect since it is believed that the first emperor of Japan was descended from a dragon. In Japan, these creatures are also viewed as gods of lighting & thunder.

Popular locations for Japanese dragon tattoos include full back & upper arm designs. For upper arm designs, the dragon typically wraps around the arm, with the head extending onto the chest or back region. This however should not limit your decision on where to place this tattoo. The style & location of your design should be personal & unique, as these factors will ultimately decide the meaning of your tattoo.

Classic Dragon Tattoo Design

Classic Dragon Tattoo DesignThis tattoo is one of a classic dragon design. A creature that is almost always portrayed in a way that it is always ready to leap into action and fight for whatever there is to fight for at the moment. No wonder a dragon is considered a sign of strength. Something that is though of as earth, wind, water and fire. And also seen as the four directions on the compass. In short the dragon, from many cultures, has a deep meaning of standing for almost everything in life. In ancient China the dragons were a symbol of imperial power and would often take the side of whatever imperial ruler was in power at that time and supposedly lend those powers to those rulers as well.

While this tattoo is not the best looking dragon tattoo I have ever seen, it is a good one and I think everyone would have to admit that a dragon is nearly as cool as it can possibly get as far as getting a tattoo goes. Nothing looks quite as hot as a dragon tattoo. At least not for me. Though I would prefer one that is whole lot more complex than this one.
